Kete Krachi
Imoro, Me and Offei goofing around at the Credit Union in Krachi. I was there to train the field assistants for the reproductive health survey.

The sweetest bicycle ever! See the fat wheel on the back! Ghanaian Chopper! hahah

Coming back from the market. Lots of people take boats across Lake Volta to go to markets in other villages across the water or to go to their villages on islands in the middle of the lake. The shore of the Volta is like a transit station...

The volta at sunset. See the trees in the water? The Volta Lake is man made; the river was dammed for a hydroelectricity project in the 60's. The trees had their tops cut off so that they wouldn't bang up boats as they were coming across the lake. It gives you a good idea of how low the water is in the lake right now because of the drought.

Cattle taking a little dip.

Lake Volta

The shores of Lake Volta. People are waiting for boats to take them across the water to their towns. It was market day in Krachi that day.
